Scott G. Bruce is a Professor of History at Fordham University in the Bronx, New York. A specialist in religion and culture in the early and central Middle Ages, he boasts an extensive and distinguished publishing record, on such disparate topics as monastic silence and sign-languages, Carolingian hagiography, and the transmission and reception of Greek and Latin classics in the early medieval West.
